People Like Us
If you’ve found your way here, chances are you’re one of “my people.” You get it—that sense that life isn’t just about the moments of joy and triumph. It’s about everything in between: the shadows we walk through, the lessons we unearth, and the quiet, sacred moments of reflection when we pause to acknowledge that we’re dancing between two worlds—this life and the one waiting for us after.
We, the ones who live in the in-between, are not afraid of the dark. We welcome it because we know that light and dark are not enemies. They are part of the same beautiful dance. People like us find inspiration in what others might dismiss as morbid, and we understand that death isn’t the enemy—it’s simply the next step on our soul’s journey. A life well lived, for us, is one that celebrates every fleeting moment while we’re here. It’s about embracing the beauty of now, even as we prepare for what comes next. We are focused on truly living in this space, this beautiful liminal space between life and death, where anything is possible and everything matters.
A Life Well Lived is One That Embraces the Shadows
You know the feeling, right? That sensation deep in your bones that there’s more to this life than just the obvious, more than just the daily grind. A life well lived is one that celebrates the light without denying the shadows. It’s about acknowledging that death isn’t just an end— it’s a new beginning, and it’s a reminder to live fully *today*.
When you let yourself live in the in-between, you start to notice the gifts that others miss. The crumbling leaf underfoot becomes a symbol of transformation, the waning moon a reminder that all things cycle back to beginnings, and even the quiet ticking of time feels like a sacred heartbeat. For people like us, every moment holds meaning if we’re open to seeing it.
We Live in the Here and Now, but Our Eyes Are on the Horizon
People like us? We’re comfortable looking beyond the veil. We know that life doesn’t end with our final breath—it merely transforms. But we also understand that while we’re here, it’s our duty, our *privilege*, to drink in every drop of existence. Whether we’re creating art, walking through nature, or sitting in silence with our emotions, we are fully alive.
But here’s the thing: We don’t rush through it. Life’s not a race to the end. We savor the steps, even the hard ones, because they shape us into who we’re meant to be when we finally do reach the other side. We’re not afraid of the unknown. Instead, we’re curious. We ask, “What lessons does this life hold for me, and how can I carry them with me into the next?”
For Us, Magick Is Found in the Mundane
There’s magick in the everyday, but it takes a special kind of person to see it. We’re the ones who turn mundane routines into rituals. When we light a candle, it’s not just to brighten the room—it’s an invitation for a sacred moment. When we cook a meal, it’s an act of gratitude for the life we’re living. We see the threads connecting everything, weaving life and death, spirit and form, into one grand tapestry.
Imagine this: You’re sitting down to a simple meal, but with each bite, you’re honoring the life force in the food, the hands that grew it, the energy it will give your body. This is magick—*our* magick. It’s not always about grand spells or rituals; sometimes, it’s as simple as saying “thank you” to the universe for letting you wake up today.
We Are Creators of Our Own Worlds
One of the most beautiful things about people like us is that we don’t passively wait for life to happen. We create our own worlds. Through our art, our words, and our actions, we breathe life into our visions. For me, it’s through the macabre and the mystical—creating scenes that remind us of the fragile beauty of life, while designing tarot cards that guide us through the shadows, and crafting images that speak to the soul.
But it’s not just about what I create—it’s about what *you* create, too. Because we’re all artists of our own lives, whether we pick up a pen or not. We know we can shape our world with intention, infuse it with meaning, and leave a lasting mark. How are you leaving your fingerprints on the fabric of existence?
A Soulful Community Awaits
If you’re still reading, if this resonates somewhere deep within you, then you’ve already found your people. We are the seekers, the ones who aren’t content with surface-level living. We ask the big questions, and we aren’t afraid of the answers. We find beauty in the dark, the light, and every shadow in between.
Here, in this space, we honor life and death equally. We live fully, knowing that our time here is temporary but profound. And we find comfort in the fact that when the time comes, we’ll cross over into whatever lies beyond, carrying with us the wisdom we’ve gained by participating in this Earth “school”.
So let’s continue walking this path together, savoring every moment, embracing the unknown, and creating worlds filled with meaning, magick, and macabre beauty. Because, my friends, life is a gift—and we are the only ones who know how to cherish it fully for ourselves.
If this speaks to your soul, welcome—you’ve found your people.
xoxo,
-Soni Graves 🖤
